BBR Productions Inc. is a Montreal-based film production company, specializing in English-language, dramatic and non-fiction theatrical/broadcast media including mini-series, feature films, MOW's, television series and documentaries.
In 2000, BBR joined L'Équipe Spectra, a company internationally recognized for producing large scale festivals such as the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Montreal High Lights Festival and Les Francofolies de Montréal. The company also boasts numerous French television productions, animated series' and children's programming.
That year, BBR produced the mini-series ARMISTEAD MAUPIN'S FURTHER TALES OF THE CITY, starring Olympia Dukakis, Paul Hopkins, Laura Linney, and Bruce McCulloch. The series was broadcast on Canada's Showcase and on the Showtime Network in the U.S. in 2001. The production was nominated for a Prime Time Emmy Award amongst others.
BBR also produced the French language version of the "Tales" series (Chroniques de San Francisco, Nouvelles chroniques de San Francisco, and Autres chroniques de San Francisco) which aired on Series+ summer of 2001.
BBR's most recent production is MYSTERY INK, a 65-episode, magazine-style television series showcasing the fictional works of renowned Canadian mystery authors. Mystery Ink hit the airwaves on Global's Mystery Channel in March 2003.
In July 2006 Suzanne Girard left the company to form her own company.
